Trouble Blogging Pt. 3
Looks like Caz was right. A system rebuild is in order! My computer has been steadily getting chuggier and chuggier and is almost at a complete standstill. Don't know how long I'm going to be offline for; hopefully just a couple of days if I get organised quickly. If I am my usual procrastinating self, could be some time after Christmas. Actually, I doubt it - where else am I gunna go to socialise?
Onto other, more serious news; I heard through the grapevine that Angela Merkel has been appointed Chancellor in a backroom deal struck with the SPD. The CDU/CSU and the SPD are forming a grand coalition. Schroeder's reportedly not taking up a position in the new cabinet.
What a shitty outcome. I wonder how long this coalition's going to last. Months? Even that long? Any prospect for significant economic reform in moribund Germany has just been deferred - again.
