PETA: Fucking Nuts

Those sane folks at PETA - People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals - don't like fishermen much. And they've decided to make a stand, in their aforementioned sane fashion. They've produced a brochure (.pdf file - take a look, it's ridiculous) to help young children fight the war of ideas on the side of the angels:

PETA have come up with a new way to turn children against their parents: a gruesome comic entitled "Your Daddy Kills Animals," telling kids that fathers who fish are murderers.

Kids! Beware of fishermen in business suits! Although no one can say there's a gender bias at PETA - they've previously published pamphlets titled "Your Mommy Kills Animals", too. Here's a particularly charming snippet from the "Daddy" rag:

"Until your daddy learns that it's not 'fun' to kill, keep your doggies and kitties away from him. He's so hooked on killing defenseless animals that they could be next!"

Okay, children, why is daddy so "hooked" (oh, the wit!) on killing? 'Cos fishy-wishies are very yummy yummy in my tummy! Moving right along, let's allow the PETA logic to play out a bit. PETA activists are so hooked on drinking their bong water that you never know what they'll imbibe next! Keep all poisonous liquids away from PETA activists. On second thoughts, surround them with poisonous liquids.
