Found lurking in a Tim Blair thread:

Media willingness to exploit the mentally disturbed (I take Mrs Sheehan to be so) should no longer surprise us. In Australia we saw the disgraceful spectacle of Cornelia Rau’s press conference’s, in which a woman who was clearly unbalanced and talking incoherently was paraded in public for our amusement. This is another shameless tour of Bedlam.

Quite so. Since every frickin' blog in the blogosphere has covered the Cindy Sheehan angle, I was quite determined to leave it well alone. However, the above provokes thought of a greater issue. I said this earlier on the same website and thread, half jokingly, however Steve lays out the case more seriously. The media is a reflection of its market - us. What does the above say about us, then?
